Is there a way you can post it where I can just touch something and not have to sign in or sign up for something? I have a SoundCloud account, but it won’t let me sign in for some reason, silly computers.

It sounds good man. I listened to the audio clips several times very closely to get a good sense of the sound. I don't know if it's the recording or the amp but there's something about the breakup. It's almost like the distortion is getting in it's own way. When I listen very closely to the way it breaks up, it's almost like it leaves little soft but crunchy particles behind that are still audible when the next notes are struck. The low end seems tight enough so it sounds more like a midrange thing. It's almost like there's a bit of clash between the sag and distortion.

Like I said, I don't know if it's the recording or the distortion, or something else. Strangely, it reminds me a little of the Mesa Boogie Stilleto, which is an amp I really liked. I'm not saying it sounds like one, just that I perceive a similar breakup. I loved the Stilleto because the distortion was so clear and 3D (I had a Stilleto ACE combo). My Stilleto had this peculiar distortion with sprt of a hollow space underneath the breakup that gave the Stilleo a 3 dimensional kind of sound. It was like I could realpy hear the innerworkings of the tubes or something. In comparison, the XD100 breakup seems to kind of envelope itself as it dissipates.

Well, this is all like on a detailed, micro level so I Iike what I heard overall. I think if the breakup could come out more crisp or something then it would be pefect. I'd want to buy an amp like that... Well, I'd need a decent clean channel also. Anyway, looking forward to hearing more, especially lead tones, and if its capable, clean to mid-gain also.

Thanks for the feedback. These clips were made with the Fryette power station with a Peavey Wolfgang with a IR of a V30. I will be working on my clips with mic’ed cabinet soon. It has been a process to get good examples of amp tones. The sound in the room is certainly more 3 dimensional. Also I will be sending my Scalpel production model to some you tubers soon.

Yeah, I've been watching "him", making sure he wasn't just a "creative" poster like Dave Gerlach or you.

At this point I'm satisfied that it's just an unsophisticated bot.

Bant. :banhim: :gethim:

I like Gerlach....where's he at?
Yeah, the dude's really-out-there and entermataining.

Don't know what happened; he hasn't shown his face around here since 2021 I reckon.

OK, just checked, Aug 18, 2021.

Someone banned him. Wasn't me. :dunno:

Man, I've got to change my initial post. I still don't know what it is but I really like it. I've probably listened to those audio files a dozen times each. It has good articulation and really great distortion. The low end is really well tweaked. It doesn't sound a lot like the EVH thing everyone else does so that's really great.
