From the overview...

Use any sound, in any arrangement, with any of the 12 footswitches. Create different pedal board setups, or “scenes”, for instant recall of an entire gig’s or song’s stompbox sounds. Save a scene for your metal band, one for your Top 40 sessions…you get the picture. No more tearing up Velcro® just to change one or two pedals. Save up to 12 scenes and back them up to your computer using the MIDI in/out.

no noise gate?

Nope but it has compression.

5 Compressors

Red Comp

Blue Comp

Blue Comp Treb

Vetta Comp

Vetta Juice

they really should have put a noise gate in that thing.

Yep, you can arrange the pedals in any order. That doesn't answer whether or not you can place some in the effects loop of your amp and some in front of your amp, though. That's the question. The Boss GT8 has this feature. It takes four cables to do it.

Ah I got ya. Didn't help that I had 4 hold 'em tables up while I was on rig talk, harmony central, and checking my e-mail. I have ADD reeeel bad. And no I don't mean I play with 20 sided dice (at least not anymore).

I am 99% sold. I just read the whole FAQ page and to me this is a piece of DREAM gear.

I love how they don't overload it with amps, cab sims, etc. Only pedals. FINALLY!!!

This thing has stereo input, stereo output, stereo effects send AND return. How about the 8 cable method. :D

The Pod X3 Live can do the input and loop programmable effects chain thing, so if this costs $200 more, it had better, as well. Actually, the X3 does it even better than the GT8, as it gives you two completely independent chains.

However, the GT10 does, as well, and also has a 40 second looper. It's the same price as the X3 Live, which is $500.

Line6 always seems to be trying to play catch up with the current Boss processor, but then makes their answer more expensive.

I'm a bit lost on the 15 footswitches, but no expression pedal. I'd gladly take that trade, as more than just a few footswitches is total overkill to begin with, and not having an expression pedal kills their whole all inclusive, no messing with pedals, argument.

Read the FAQ's... it explains.

Nothing I saw in there did. Yes, you can plug a separate one in, but you could still do that with tons of processors, including the original Pod XT, despite the fact that it had its own.

I didn't realize it was effects ONLY. Now it makes even less sense than before. With all those switches, you'd think the thing would have 2-3 expression pedals built in. Plenty of others already had two.

And it says the looper is 28 seconds. I thought it was dumb enough that there was a $100 price jump from the XT Live to X3, but a $200 jump over the X3 when it has no models, and inferior features to the GT10, is pretty lame.

This would have been cool for $400, but they've priced themselves out, if you ask me. All their stuff since pretty much the XT has been too expensive for what you get.

At least this will shut up the tards always complaining about how effects processors have modeling, because they don't want to pay for it. Now they'll see how that really works out.

$700 MSRP means it will still run about $500... That's a lot of gravy for something with no expression pedal.

Yeah you have to buy the Ex-1 which is $69.99. I already have the Echo and Mod Pro, and was going to get the Filter Pro just to round out the collection. I'm on the fence now though. I can't find one for under $350. Do I really need to dial in my Comet Trails to 90bpm? I got the other 2 for diiiiirrrrrt cheeeeeeep. $225 a piece and they are flawless. I can hock em on fleabay for twice that if it comes down to it, but they work well so no real incentive. I'm sure in a few months the M13's will start popping up used for cheap. Those footswitches are garbage. It's a really cool idea and I will definitely annoy the piss out of the Guitar Center folks when this thing ships. I just wish it would double as a midi controller for my rig. Oh well, we'll see.
