I got an Orville by Gibson Les Paul custom... Threw in some BK Mules in it. It's nice but I don't care for it's 60 profile neck. Was wondering if swapping out the rest of the electronics is necessary or not. Also I tried to replace the pick guard with a Gibson USA LP custom pick guard and it's not the same spacing at all which is kind of a bummer.

The stock Japanese pups are usually pretty honky, i always put Duncans or Gibsons in mine.

Id hit that thing like a 5 dollar Hooker on Cinco De mayo ...

Thanks for that link Scott. Good info for sure!

No problem mang. In addition I'd say hit up Meestursparkle on eBay....also known as Dangerdog on MLP. Dude is in Japan but he's got a fuckin SPOTLESS record. If anyone has anything good it'll be him. He gives discounts if you're an MLP member too.
Yeah man good call! Heard great things about Meestur.

Check out Rondo music and look at some Agile LPs. They do have a black 3 hum for 300 or a little less. Like you I'm not really an LP guy, but these are decent playing/sounding guitars for 3-500 new. The 3000 and up series, I've had 2 and neither have needed anything. Came setup well, and the pickups are nice Alnicos. And, 30 day return policy too. Korean made I believe.

A friend of mine has owned over a dozen of the Agile.... They are nice guitars for the money. He usually changes out the electronics and they need a set up.

 I mean, let's face it...they aren't LPs but for the price and playability, worth it IMO.

Agile all the way. My silverburst Agile AL is badass. Super cheap, sounds and plays great, nice and heavy. It's a great guitar for next to no money.

Just went to guitar center. Tons of 'studio' Paul's for about this price.
Had 2 studios in the past and they just didn't feel right. Yes I have owned Gibson Custom shop Les Pauls. And I know they fell and play in a league on their own. Guess my biggest question was Japanese 'custom shop' Les Paul or a USA studio?
Seem to be bout same price.

I would check also the Japanese Tokai Les Paul copies. Great guitars.

Love the feedback guys.
Again dabbling in uncharted territory here.

Tokai is also a good choice. I've played 2 Tokai LPs that were killer.

Edwards / Navigator also an option...? I grabbed one from guy in JP years ago...killer guitar, had a best of a 50s neck though..and I just couldn't play it.

80-82 Grecos my favorite. I actually put in a lowball offer (turned down) on the one you posted looks nice. I have an 82 black 2 pickup custom. It's as good or better than most gibson I have. I like this better than the couple studios I've had.
