People are fucked up... why would you have a live in case built for your cabinet, head, AND rack? WHO THE FUCK IS GUNNA LIFT THAT? what do you have 4 lackies who follow you to your bar gigs, or rehersal, to lift all that? serperate that shit with seperate cases, and maybe you wouldn't have lost your ass on the resale of it! seriously. that would weigh like 300 lbs! what a knob.

I thought the same thing when my buddy showed up at church with is orange thunderverb 100 and cab in a live in rack case. I told him it was cool, but must be a pain to lift. He said he just rolls it around, but at some point there are stairs. Ironically I never saw it again….

I could fit my whole life in a rack case if it were big-enough.

I wonder who'd buy it...

Hmm... scratch that... it'd be a big steekin' metal-encased nothing burger.

Rack cases are essential, but everyone knows you rack stuff separately unless you're Metallica.

What a dumb, dumb idea
road cases are not essential unless you gig... like really gig. like once a month at least. doubling the weight of your gear just to go to the bar isn't worth it IMO. thats just me, because i've done it, and my back still hates my guts. :p

Gigging is the assumption I was making, because that's *my* situation.

It’s all fun and games on load out and sound check until you’ve played your gig and then have to rush to load up. Some of the deepest soul digging I’ve had to make are loading my heavy ass guitar cabinets and heads/effects racks out after you’re fucking beat.

I can’t tell you how many times as a band we had coffee and cigarettes at 3am at Waffle House because we were beat and tired after playing all night - sometimes after long drives home.

I can also tell you how much it sucks to wait to unload it all off the trailer or the back of my truck the next morning. Also sucks.

Moral of the story, fuck combination racks.

I’ll be completely honest with you all - my experience doing this when I was younger is exactly why I won’t try heavy ass eminence speakers to go for zakks tone. I don’t care enough and neither does my back. G12Ms do just fine.

People wanna look cool. But when you show up to be the opener and the house stagehands quickly try and help you breakdown for the 15 minute change over, they are gonna look at you like you’re a fucknut

I didn’t play but was hired hands to a band competition. Crowd support AND TEARDOWN TIME were both metrics of the band voting.

It was at this time that my friend and I learned the importance of cable nets and snakes with quick connect Amphenol connectors. We made one for this setup after that shit show, but I will need to make my own later on.
