Hello fellow gear nutz... I purchased a set of Shaller M6 locking tuners ... The plan is to instal them in my Japanese Charvel San Dimas. The shaft on these are a good deal lower in height than the original tuners. I can string the guitar up fine but will the height difference effect anything negatively ? Is this basically the same because there would be no wraps around the shaft now, brake out point would prob be the same so maybe thats the answer ?, just want to be sure. The first tuner in the pic on the low E is the new Schaller all others are original. Did I buy the wrong tuners for this guitar ?

Should be fine. The hole height is close, and keep in mind that you don't need a long post since you should have less than a single wrap on the string.

With the locking Floyd nut there aren't any issues, very cool I love locking tuners.
I have a set on my tribute Hamer SS-3 Steve Stevens guitar, they work great!

Less than one> You dont go all the way around, even once?

Correct. No need to.

I would say no issue. In fact, possibly a positive. Sperzel does braag about their graduated post height. So, perhaps the sharper angle is beneficial to tuning stability but, idk.
