Looking for a good booster

I'm thinking about picking up a Fender Twin and doing a speaker swap.

I want to add a good booster. Something tight with good sizzle and a modern twist.

I had a BE Modded Marshall for years and I'm thinking of getting the BE pedal.

Anyone have any experience with the twin specifically and boosting?

I've got a Friedman BE and a Friedman Buxom Boost I'd sell you.

FWIW I used my BE-OD and EP Booster with my Bassman 4x10 and thought it sounded great! In fact, I've also used both pedals along with the rest of my board in conjunction with a 44 Magnum and have gotten great results with that as well.

I would just stack regular old OD pedals until you get the gain you want/need. Boss SD1, OD1, TS9, etc...

dude, you should TOTALLY GET A METAL ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BITCHIN!!!!

Cheap solutions -1) Boss SD - 1 (I recently got mine, really useful when dialed in correctly for the specific purpose)
2) joyo us dream (supposed to be really good for what's meant to do)

More expensive - 1) Airis Savage Boost / Drive
2) Horizon Devices Precision Drive
3) VFE Standout Mid Boost
4) Revv G3
5) VH4 Diezel preamp pedal - I used to have one - amazing lead tones, not my type of chuga chuga - tight rhythm stuff,
6) ISP Theta Preamp pedal - I'm in the honeymoon period with this pedal! It does so many things. Actually it's a preamp so it's super versatile. Maybe the tightest pedal I've ever tried.

I've owned a few Fender Twin. By the time you get overdrive the amp is extremely loud. Many of the pedals recommended work best with a amp that is overdriven. A boost is just going to make the amp louder. You want a overdrive and more likely a distortion pedal. I would be looking at distortion pedals that work with a clean amp.... Not boost pedals.

Or look for a Rivera era Twin, plenty of gain in those.

My favorite distortion pedals with the Twin was a Rat and OCD. But a lot of pedals came out since then. But highly recommend trying both.

I actually saw one used for 450/500 on either Reverb or eBay the other day. I might grab it.

I've done the Rat and OCD route on the Twin I used to have.
So far, I'm digging that Revv G3.

I'm also thinking of getting a DRRI for the lower headroom and edge of break up thing then boosting it with either the BE OD, TS or Revv.

Certainly would be easier to bring to a gig.

Have you checked out the Mesa Fillmore ?

It's the most Fender amp Mesa has made and it sounds great with pedals.

Yeah! I heard an SRV style clip the other day. Sounded awesome.

I'm trying to go cheap right now though. I just replaced my entire rig; guitars included.

Friend borrowed my Jetter Johnny A and MXR EVH 5150 pedals to front his 80w Twin. Said Johnny A was best pedal he'd ever played (albeit not the most inexpensive and immediately made me take it back) and 5150 made his Twin pissed off, mean and nasty.

I've run the 5150 into a couple Fenders for guitar sales demos and always was asked what amp I was playing. It can get downright mean, thick and chunky. Check Phil McKnight's comparison to the BE-OD...similar pedals.

There are also TONS of easy mods for Fender amps to either increase gain and/or lower output power, look into some...but if you're into hard rock or metal I'd say stay away, much easier ways to get there.
