I'm looking to pick something up to record some heavy tracks. Even with great humbuckers the Stratocasters aren't heavy enough for me.

What are your experiences with the LTD's? I've been looking at an LTD with 57/66 EMG's Mahogany body, maple cap and ebony board. Killer looking guitar and I've played a few regular ESP Eclipse models. I really dig the body, heel and neck profile.

Thoughts?
Thanks!

The EMG 57 sounds great. I like it better than an 81.

I recently picked up a couple of Jackson JS32 Warrior guitars (one in early December-2016; it was so good, I didn't stop playing it, and got another early Jan-2017); the pickups aren't the best, but for the price I think these are great guitars. I haven't really played my other guitars since getting these.

i have a couple ltd mustaine V's - they're nice guitars. they don't make them anymore though - but they're just a mahogany V with neck thru construction. i can also set my guitars up myself. i have duncan blackouts in one of them and it sounds great.

I would get either one of these depending on if you wanted 6 or 7 strings. in fact, I bought the top one but it arrived with a headstock break so I sent it back.

this is what I got instead but with a natural spalted maple top instead of black:

LTD's are really good guitars, especially for the price. Used ones are usually really good deals. I've had a few and still have an LTD M301 that I've had for maybe 12 years or so. I think the specs you listed will get you the metal for sure.

What a beauty! I've never heard of Balaguer before, what has your experience been and how would you rate that Thicket BB compared to the LTD Deluxe? I have both an MH-1000ET and an EC-1000ET, and I'm in love with Evertune Bridges.

Fluff said in a video his is the best sounding guitar he owns.

I have never played one, they look great and the builder is a pretty cool guy from what I have seen. I have no idea how much they go for though.

well I didn't get to play the ltd since it arrived with a broken headstock and I don't have the balaguer yet so im sorry but I don't have much to add but I would totally vouch for joe balaguer as a legit builder. his communication has been top notch and I know several dudes who love his guitars.

this model was built for Beau Burchell of Saosin so chances are it wont suck. fishman fluence pickups and an evertune. if I can make it through an entire set without tuning between songs that would be freaking awesome.

Cool, I'd love to see your review once you get to play your new axe! If you haven't played an Evertune before, you'll love it. It takes some tweaking and getting used to at first though.

That Eclipse is very similar to the one I'm looking at. Same color.

I used to have a Strat style guitar with a Nailbomb in it and it sounded incredible. Really miss it.

I might just throw a Nailbomb in one of my Stratocasters. Has anyone done that?
