Would love suggestions for the smallest, low wattage, clean amp that loves pedals? Preferably a combo tube amp. Interested in something perhaps under 15 watts? Ive amassed an assortment of nice pedals so am looking for something to use around the house that likes fuzz and distortion plus all other pedals. The lower the wattage the better cause I want it to sound good at low volumes and because distortion and fuzz already adds lots of volume when used.

I just recently got a VHT special 6. 6 watt tube amp. Just a volume and tone knob. They make a Special 6 Ultra with more bells and whistles like fx loop if that is more to your liking. At noon on the volume knob, its a nice clean tone. Between around 1:00 and 3:00 is where the OD lies. Beyond 3:00 I find its a little fuzzy but I am still new to it so I am still trying stuff out. The volume specs I gave were with single coils, so expect less headroom with humbuckers.

I got the head and cab for under 400 total from GC.com but they make a combo version also.

Those vht specials are nice. The fender princeton reissue is a nice one for that fender type clean.

I have a Crate V5 all-tube I can let go for cheap. 1 x 12AX7, 1 x EL84. Great smooth tone, but will drive a 4 x 12 into grind when cranked. PM me if interested. Great little amp. (I've got two...)

This past weekend I stumbled onto a used Dr.Z Carmen Ghia 18 watt head in mint shape - damn nice amp!! Bought it. Great cleans to bluesy tones and if you add a pedal up front, some classic rock as well. Hand wired, cathode/self biasing, EL84. No problem driving a 2x12 or 4x12.

Another great choice and much more affordable than the Carr. That said, it doesn't have near the flexability and still needs to be pretty loud to give up the goods...awesome amp though.
