Title says it all :)

I'm just about to pull the trigger, but I would like to chat with someone who did it! This mod is generating a nice tone on Marshall's and all, but cant find clips or reviews on a mesa triple.

Now I'm already using the Maxon ST-9 pro plus as a boost, so I am wondering if this mod would push my tone over the cliff or not?

So... yeah; not something I absolutely need, but GAS has kicked in and this mod is picking my interest.

I have one, tried it in many amps, including a multi watt Triple. What are you trying to achieve?

I have the non-multi watt; but I think the outcome should be very similar. Just trying to get a meaner tone and push the gain a bit more. I bought my Maxon ST-9 with this in mind, and the tone is very well aligned with what I want. But even with a noise suppressor, there's a little oscilating sound that I cant get rid of. And I'm thinking that this could be the solution to my problem.

Or maybe a combination of the two. ST-9 as a boost, while the full gain coming out of the head / mod.

Can't help you with the Mesa tryout, but I am getting one this week to run in my 50w & 100w Marshall clones I built.

I received the Legendary Tone Mr. Scary/Lynch mod and installed it yesterday in one of my Marshall 50w 1987 NMV clones. Take your cranked (vol - 8) amp tone and magnify its content x 1.5 and you have an amp that sustains effortlessly and enhances the entire tonal range without being overly compressed. It still retains the tone, just adds more girth to it. Since it has an adjustable gain pot plus a deep switch you can get meatier tones without being flubby while playing. I tested it through M75, M75-PVC cabs and it kicks ass in them both. No need to second guess, it's staying in "Blackie".
David Szabados did an exemplary job on this product!

Great review, thank you! I think i'm going to give it a shot. The gain pot will be at the very back of my tubes, which may be a pain to adjust, but I guess when it's dialed in, you dont need to change it. Thank again.

Correct. At 0 the gain pot is out of the circuit. At 1/2 it's adding plenty of fullness and clarity. I tried it at 3/4 and it can get a little wild, nothing you can't control with hands and volume knobs, though. I didn't try it past 3/4 as it's more saturation than I need. But my buddy Todd Sims & I checked it at max, and depending on whether you have the deep switch engaged, it could be awesome for metal/death metal (DM not my style). I found it attained Judas Priest levels quite easily. YMMV depending on the amp, but the next test is with the Scumback DBL attenuator in the mix so I can throttle down the volume and still have that effortless sustain.

Kyle bull. He did a good video on it.

I honestly prefer a boost for metal with the Recto.

It's definitely worth trying though.

After trying in many amps I felt it brought the same change to each amp which you may like.
