That Ormsby is a pretty little amp.

Any better guitar pictures?

Hell yeah man. Allways a good time when getting together with other gear whores

did you argue what to try first? =)

looks like i'd lose a few days in there

we basically just moved across the room, from left to right, taking turns with diffrent guitars and trying diffrent cabs.
several hours later and we got throught all of them. Unfortunately no clips or vids as this was only the second time doing this, but hopefully some in the future

my thoughts...

there was not one amp that didnt sound good in that room. the facilities at Crank Studios were just Tops. we didnt film or do

My favourite amp of the day goes to the Soldano Hot Rod. must have one! but ill have to investigate if there is a cheaper Jet City Alternative.

The Woogie gets my vote for the most aggressive/mean, yet pleasant (ie not fizzy) tone, not only on the day, but that ive heard...ever!

Favourite Clean tone was the AC30 through my Framus 2x12 with mismatched speakers. simply stunning.
the Framus cab with those speakers really turned some heads...including my own...it really just stood out (even compared to the 4x12s)

Mark V gets the versatility award, especially for being not too complex/overkill (err hmmm roadking). and the lead tones with the JP6 was pretty much a perfect pairing.

Old marshall sounded...like a good old marshall...especially after hearing the more modern DSLs.

and yeah the Digitech/Rocktron Rack really was really a surprise....makes me wonder how much better an AXE-FX can be (one was meant to come down but hopefully next time)

sorry my phone camera sucks,
only one person had a proper camera, but didnt have a big memory card, but when the photos pop up ill post them here.

we really werent prepared for photo/clip wise...everyone just bought all the gear they had and it was basically all rocked up at same time and setup.

Nice! I will say that I had a Hot Rod 50 with KT88's and I didn't like it at all. The guy I bought it from did say that he thinks it had some bottom end mod from the factory and I found it boomy, muddy, and basically worthless for me. From everything I hear online however, I had a bad one.

fair nuff...this one was running 6L6 and it was basically the crunch tone i go for.
ie pick one good high gain setting and use your guitars volume to control more/less)

This was a really cool day, and the Hot rod was my favorite (new) tone of the day.
Definitely can't go wrong with these types of meetups, hopefully they get some clips at the next one.
