I need some more modern tight high gain tones. Will the Bogner red pedal deliver? I've been kicking around the thought of getting a 5150 III 50 watt but I would have to unload some stuff to raise the funds and make room.

I guess that depends on what your idea of "modern high gain" is.... If you want a plexi type tone, the Carl Martin PlexiTone is a monster. I've got one and love it.

Try the red, it really adds a TON of gain. But if you want modern maybe get an EQ pedal and play around with different tones that way. The ED has a lot of bottom and low mids so it's a great pedal platform.
