Wow, I had no idea about this thread... Dayum!!

After reading through every post, those who offered their input, care, support, and at times their rebuttle and challenge, ultimately it comes down to the brass tacks facts that yes, the 20th Anniversary XTC is the best amp out there. Hands down, killer amp. They nailed this one out of the park.

I need to play a 20th XTC. I keep hearing how great these sound, but nobody stocks them in my area.

My favorite tube amp. Not only does it sound good but it fits so nicely in a mix. I'm not sure why but it just does.

You owe it to yourself to get a hold of one and just give 'er. Takes a while to understand it from an EQ and call/response perspective, but maybe an hour or two and you're done. After that, it's pure tone. I men seriously pure fkn tone. Every channel, every angle, boost is awesome, and it revs up real nice and sounds better than it looks.

Agreed. As mentioned, not sure it's possible to get a bad sound out of this amp.

I find with a lot of amps you can get "severe" in the EQ, you know, do shit that just wouldn't make sense...and it sounds accordingly. But the 20thX has got a really broad EQ and it's usable from far left to far right. It's a perfect amp and does a lot of tones, perfectly.

I love mine. And I'm not just fanboi'ing.

In a way, it was like having a 5 or 6 channel amp. Between the standard channels you had the switches (like the Plexi mode) that allowed you to get more than usable tones. Any of the settings stood on their own and would sound great as a single channel amp. The only other tube amp that I would like that could give me what I would be looking for is a Henning Cherry Bomb.
