it’s been a few years since I’ve looked into this. I own an eminence Maverick FDM speaker, and I think it is a decent option to go for eliminating a attenuator, yet still allowing a little bit of juice to flow out of the power amp.
Are there any speakers that have really low sensitivity, that work well for metal? - anything new in recent years in this development?

since most of us do metal, we don’t need to get too much distortion from the power amp, but without turning up a standard amp can setup to blistering loud levels, it seems a bit sterile. Then there’s the conversation of why get a 50 watt amp in the first place and just how loud IS one watt…
