I just wanted to know if the bone nut might sound wamer over the LSR nut...

I'm getting and american deluxe strat to cannibalize and I wanted to know if I sohuld avoid the humbucker versions that come with this nut and just go for the single coil versions that are bone/ivory... I tossing the pickgard and the pups in favor of my own set up...

Thanks

G.

I can't say that I noticed a big difference, myself. Replaced the plastic nut on an American Standard with the LSR, didn't even really think about there being a difference. (I've always had it set up as an HSS since I bought it.)

there is a big difference - a noticeable difference with the type of nut material that is used. when i had the chance to play the yngwie model strat with a brass nut, the sustain and overall note-attack of the strings was different compared to the floating style floyd rose tremelo's i am used to using.

i will say that i would not build a clone strat without a brass nut. having been over a year since i played a signature model, you can look up the review on rig-talk for the detailed description.

it does matter in my opinion. i heard the difference myself, and however small a difference it is, it is still noticable to me. YMMV.
