I need to have my Gibson refreted, but I want to have stainless frets installed. Anyone in the Minneapolis/St.paul area you could recommend?

You might want to call Savage Audio in Bloomington (I think) and see if they know of anyone that can do it or a few of the other high end guitar shops. You could always check with Juggernaut/B. Gutierrez on a refret cost but you'd have to ship it out, which you might have to do if no one local can do it for you. Sorry, I'm not more help - it's been quite a few years since I've been up in that area.

you could try dave's guitar shop in la crosse. there's also a martin certified luthier who works part time at the music store in eau claire.. can't remember his name or which store though.

Savage Audio is in Savage, MN! :D

Anyway, here are a few place to try:

Brown's Guitar Factory 651-455-6379
American Guitar 763-424-4888
Willie's American Guitar 651-699-1913
Dave Rusan Guitar Works 952-941-8935
Dave's Guitar (LaCrosse WI) 608-785-7704

Hope this helps.

:)

I know two guys who've had LP's refretted recently and both turned out great. One went to Brown's and it cost him $900. The other went to Mr Mark's in Anoka...he spent less then $300.

Rusan does great work as does Hoffman's in Mpls.
