If you're looking in the western part of the state, or willing to ship I can't say enough good things about Randy Hughes. Before I moved he did work on several of mine, and his reputation reaches far beyond NC. http://www.hughesguitarsandrepair.com

If you're further east, Mark Kane is south of Raleigh and also does impeccable work. http://www.thefretking.com

Both of these guys typically have a decent size backlog, but IMO their work quality is worth the wait.

Completely agree with Mark Kane....I have known him for 12-15 years now...impeccable!! (which is why he has a backlog) If you are traveling to drop a guitar off, Marks shop is 15-20 minutes from SOundPure so you can stop in there and see some cool stuff and chat up Eddie.... I live 10 minutes from each.....

If you're close to Charlotte then I'd recommend Nick Plesz or Craig Landau at NC Guitarworks, if you're in the Greensboro area I'd check out Bob Rigaud.

Hey thanks guys.

FretKing was recommended to me late this evening from my cousin. He's had work done by Mark and couldn't say enough about him.

He's very convienent as well.

Steve Stoeckel is the guy to see for amp repair/maintenance, he's right next door to NC Guitarworks.
