Lynchbacks

I have a quad loaded in a marshall 1960b and I like um. They work well with higain amps and have a tight bottom. I use the cab with my 79 jmp with a 82 tube screamer and the set up just work nice. I will say they are on the darker thick creamy side, no ice pick highs here. I think they are a really nice speaker for the price. Just my 2 cents. Soon they will be gettin a work out from the CCV. The speakers have Lynch on them they have to sound good.

He probably doesn't even use them....just like everything else he endorses.

Paul your probably right, but it's mind over matter here. If the same speaker had Kerry King on them I wouldn't even give them a second look. See marketing works. :D

Sounds promising so far. So would you say they are very similar to a GB? More like a G12-65?

Going from memory it is about a 50/50 mix of both, I think the lynchbacks have a little more life in the top end, no blanket effect. I don't think they reinvented the wheel with these speakers but they mixed it up enough to make it interesting. It's a greenback you can punish. There is a big thread on tgp about them.

My friend got a set last week in a Zilla Fat boy cab, they sound great, instant gas!

To me it's the perfect blend of Greenback and T75's, really smooth and not over thick so lead sounds fantastic. I would love a set to run with V30's.

We used it for all the lead tones on my bands EP. I will have some clips soon and post them.

I love my Scumbacks but I have to admit, I really like what I have been reading when it comes to the Lynchback.

super v's with greebacks are great, i plan to get a 2 x 12 and load it with a lynchback and v 30. All around versatility!

I got the Randall Lynch Box Cab that loaded with Eminence Super V and it sounds great with any amp I run with it.
Love to pick up a 2nd one.
I have another cab with Vintage 30's in it and the Lynch box kills it in my opinion. ;)

I thought we were talking about Lynchbacks not superVs.... The SuperV is an Eminence speaker and the Lynchback is Celestion isnt it ?

I would love to check out the Lynchbacks. If they are like the Super V......I want some! :D

Lynchback = Celestion.

Correct, super v were eminence but we were just saying that usually Lynch's stuff is pretty kick ass so the lynchback is probably also a fine speaker in it's own right.

You got that right. Never used a single thing he has ever endorsed except ESPs.

Little bump to ask - has anyone got experience of both these and 70s "Blackback" G12Hs? I'm considering putting two of each in a 4x12 (X-pattern) and any input on whether that might or might not be cool would be much appreciated! I primarily play modern metal and use V30s but would like to have some different tones at my disposal for recording purposes :)

how would these sound compared say to my G12H30 that i have in my Marshall 1960BHW cab? Also keep in mind that i'm running a Marshall Slash Jubilee 2555

I'm loading up a 4x12 with Super Vs and Cannabis Rexs in a X pattern....kinda excited to hear how that bish will sound.

I'd rather have a high powered Greenback,
I ordered the Creamback G12M-65 for my Stone Age 212C.
I was told it is the best and closest Celestion had gotten to a high powered GB.
