Sweet....I know Ampaddict here had his snakeskin Slo....
glad to see GL got the grey one back.

Nice. Must feel great to get something like that back after it was stolen years ago. Thieves suck.

Wasn't that amp in the James Lugo amp shootout a couple of years ago. That definitely wasn't the 90's. ;) Or maybe he had several Snakeskin ones. Because I have seen him play with a SLO just like that for the past several years.

Well according to folks around here, it was the purple plexi used on wicked sensation so clearly George is wrong!

I love how he has all these "best sounding this or that amp ever" .. I thought the one used in James Lugo's shootout sounded horrible.Loose and fizzy.. guess it wasn't "the one".

I think the stolen one was just grey, not ss.

The Purple plexi was used for leads on that album, and the SLO was used for many of the rhythm tracks. There are plenty of videos of him in the studio when he did a REH instructional video playing through the purple plexi

So which one is this then? I took this at a Lynch Mob show in '10

It looks like a grey tolex (hard to tell from that distance so it may be snakeskin), but definitely a chrome Soldano badge. baron55 you might be right in saying he had several of them.

Ok, Lynch has had a bunch of SLO's over the years. For Wicked Sensation he used the '88 grey SLO and another in boa snake skin. NOT the '87 Snake Skin SLO in Lugo's amp shoot out and pictured in the pics above. Lynch bought that SLO for $5,000 (he told me in person) from an L.A. amp rental place in 2009 or so.

The original '88 Grey SLO had been stolen in the early 90's. For whatever reason George thinks that SLO sounded the best. In 2008 he had Soldano make him a new SLO without an effects loop and with OD and Crunch only (no clean switch). Apparently he got rid of that one too because I haven't seen it lately.

Hope that sums it up! :D

This shot is from the 2nd Lynch Mob album period. Note the two SLO's (one grey and other snake skin).

I have a poster of this. Mmmmmmmmm dat gear. :D

I thought this was from the Sacred Groove recording, hence the sitar and that lovely Mesa halfstack. But I read that he used the SLO and the Genz Benz cabs on tour for the 2nd Lynch Mob tour, correct? So you might be right. Either way, it's within a year.

in the instructional video he plays an engl straight...

His tone is so drenched in chorus and delay on the lesson clips in that vid that he could essentially play anything and it would sound good. He had some cool stretchy shapes though.

Yes. I have always found that vid difficult to watch. That delay is extremely annoying.

I had an Ibanez roadstar stolen when I was 16 and then came across it in a pawn shop near 15 years later, it was a great feeling.

And you bought it back?
