Hey Crew! I am looking at a 2002 MIJ LP Custom. I would like to reach out to you guys/gals on your opinions on these. I like how the headstock is the open book and not the tombstone. On another note, I ran across an LP Custom Black Widow and HOLYSH%#!!!! What a guitar. Thanks in advance for all your answers/opinioins! As we say  on!

That should be a great guitar. It might be called an "elitist" or "elite" and they're all very nice. I think they shared some of the same builders as the Orville by Gibson guitars.

Yeah, that being a 2002 with the "open" headstock, it is probably the Elitest. VERY nice, in my opinion.

I have a MIJ non export Epi and it's without a doubt the best LP that I've played.

if it has a gibson-like headstock, it's probably a lacquer model made for japanese market
it should look pretty much like a late 90's Orville by Gibson
the elitist has an ugly popsicle headstock (still looks better than a heritage's headstock)

What Eric said. Its like an Orville (by Gibson) made by FujiGen. Awesome guitars, esp. the higher end models with ebony fretboard. The neck is huge though . . .

The LPC on the right is a 94' Fujigen Orville, i actually play it more than my Gibson.

Both great guitars.

My main guitar for a few years now has been the Epi Elitist LP (non custom). Excellent guitar, very heavy in weight and heavy tones/riffing. nice fret job on this one. very good value at $700 used. why pay $3000 for a new gibson? it has grover tuners, bone nut and burstbucker pups. i think long tenon neck, excellent sustain.

should look like the 2nd from the right . . . Epi LPC 90
The LPC 80 had a rosewood fretboard and a smaller neck, the LPC 90 (very rare btw) a wide/fat ebony fretboard neck.
