Well, I finished the changes I'm making to my PRS. Here is what it looked like before:

Since this, I replaced the truss rod cover with a rosewood one with an abalone tribal sun inlay. I also replaced the white plastic pickup selector knob with an indian rosewood one. I also replaced the black plastic back plate with an indian rosewood one. Finally, I replaced the white plastic pickup rings with cocobolo wood ones. The headstock veneer is cocobolo, so I think it looks cool to have the rings in a the same wood. I got everything but the trc from pickuprings.com. He does nice work. I used some high grit sandpaper on the parts to smooth them out and them applied lemon oil finish which made the wood parts look great. Here are some pics... Classy, huh? :D :

At this point (and for just a few bucks more), I don't know what separates this $4K guitars from a $10K Private Stock?

looks great steve,

i dont see what separates them either. a friend of mine has a prs private stock, and it looks nowhere near as good as this

Looks great Steve. I don't think that guitar can look bad.

100% on that the top on that is as good as any Prive Stock PRS I have ever seen. Actually when I bought my 10 top singlecut rosewood I played a couple private stock's as well and honestly thought mine played and sounded just as good if not better and the top was in the same league too. You made a killer guitar a work of art with what you did, nice job :)
