That we thought this whole look was cool? I'll give it to Roberts, he was built like a beast and the whole Rambo II Stallone vibe worked for his stage look but this video lol... check out the babe lift at 3:36. So classic.

As a side note, AFD came out in 87', knocked some sense into all the teasing hairballs. I love the 80's but even I can admit that near the end of it and early 90's, there is a reason the cheese had to die. The good stuff endures to this day and still rocks but I doubt anyone ever takes their corvette for a ride now and blasts Kane Roberts through the speakers.

Wow. That was pretty horrible and I was a teenager then.

Doesn't get anymore cringe than this... Will it be fist, or finger?

Ouch. I also wasn't with where metal seemed to be heading. For me guitar had been advancing starting with Eddie-Vai-Yngwie but then...these bands with big hair/dressed like women/etc. I felt it was devolving. But there was Coroner/Anthrax/Pantera/etc which were still heavy.

It was right about then I branched out and learned to love SRV and Eric Johnson and other non-metal music so I guess it wasn't all bad.

Like anything done to excess - it loses what was once good about it or made it great. There were still some good songs out there for hair metal. I like all kinds of stuff even back then but what I did enjoy was that there were cool bands coming out every month back then. New cool stuff being released. That is gone now for rock n roll for the most part.

I am 49 and sometimes I feel like I am living during the end of a Martin Scorsese movie.....all the good times are gone and everyone gets whacked etc.

I have to wonder if the producers of hair metal and 80's videos said "Okay, we gotta pack this video with as many hot women as possible, because if not this is gonna seem like the gayest thing ever." It's just hilarious how the hair metal videos are all 140 lb guys that looked like trannies. So I guess this guy probably did stand out for being roided rambo as shit.

I also laugh at the fact that he probably thought it was an awesome idea to get a custom machine gun guitar built but never thought about how shitty it might sound... once it was done, he had to use it. On the plus side, it looks like his bass player could spot him on bench press.

I agree with everyone, there was still some great stuff coming out (Skid Row for example) but they overdid it with the teased hair and the shit songwriting and producing. I think GnR restored the raw balance of what and where rock should go back to before grunge killed it. The thrash bands probably had the greatest output in the late 80's and into the 90's. Some fantastic stuff then. Classic metal bands like Priest and Maiden also kept putting out good/decent stuff. The good stuff held up (Cinderella for example), the crap sort of dropped off. (like this junk)

Gotta admit though, the "babe lift" from the crowd was cool. It would have been even cooler if he grabbed 2 babes and his bass player grabbed 2 babes and they both did curls with them. I mean it wasn't like they were playing guitar in half of the video anyway.

Agreed that would have sealed the deal on the cool factor. In most of his videos, Rambo doesn't seem to play with a pick. Here he is once again, slapping his axe to death and coaxing out the toneZ!!

1980 was 40 years ago.

They say the first thing to go after the memory is the caulk.
No more caulk rock.

AC is a much better golfer than singer IMO.
