Just picked this up from Mark. Its an EL84 CCV circuit. Very low volume. It gets very loud and transformers are huge. Lots of options on this and still dialing in.

Brings a smile to my (80's) soul.

For real.

Those are the tones that I grew up with and you've got the amp (and sound recording device) that realizes those sounds.

When you're ready to sell, let me know!

man that sounds so great. Reminds of the 1st time I met Mark at this kinda amp get together some where around Orange County. I showed up with my DSL 100 and Mark had all his amps that just slayed mine lol - His amps always sound killer

Sounds great man. I've never seen that model before so it's really cool that you have something so unique and versatile.

Mark was designing these amps while he was working for Danny of Standel amps. Two were completed before Mark left Standel. One went to Doug Aldrich and one went a Randy Porter, a Studio owner who kept it for years and made a lot of music with it until he closed his studio. I purchased that one from Randy. I got to talking with Danny one day and he had what he called his Cameron boneyard. I got word to Mark and arranged he would get the amps for a small cost. These are the original handwired CCV circuit. I got another one from Mark. The first one I owned was killer. They were both el34 100 watters.I should have kept it. Sounds killer. I think he finished up one el84 and I was told it sounded great like yours.

Your playing sounds great, but I'm afraid the amp sounds rather generic. Downright anemic when you backed-off on the guitars volume pot. I'd like to hear you play that through the Soldano, or even an AC30 with a Plexitone pedal.

Yeah 84's can cook. Sounds killer.

Here's my Cornford Hellcat with 4 EL84's too. 2x12 though.

The volume was super low so its not really giving up the goods. When I backed off volume I was on the cleaner channel without the zeners. Its a cool amp not for everyone. While were at it here is another amp Mark lent me. Its an 18 watt 2 channel prototype.

I never should have sold the Cameron modified Carlsbro I purchased from you... That was/is an awesome amp!

Wow! Not a damn thing wrong with that! Gorgeous gain and clean tones.

I got one of these! Here's a quick clip:

I've never been a fan of EL84's with high gain. They don't hold the bottom down like the big watt tubes, and the top gets too brittle sounding. I think they sound fabulous for compressed cleans and crunch tones. To compensate, I use gain pedals with my EL84 amps, or no pedals at all. The Diezel Schmidt and the Cornford Hellcat can be exceptional amplifiers. Some Hellcat amplifiers sound great, while others don't sound so good. I've found that the HC sounds best with the reverb tube removed. Run a good EQ and Lexicon reverb in the loop, and you are good to go!
