Gain tones are kinda thin and fizzy to my ears. Great playing as always though.

:worship:

Thanks for the vid Mark. Looking forward to the Axe II-your vids just make me that more anxious.

Yeah sounds a lot more harsh than marks previous ultra vids which were really gainy but still full and smooth. Honestly this vid doesnt sound any better than a POD to me. would like to hear the same patch with a tube power and see what the results are.

Must be listening to a different vid??? :D

It does sound fizzy. Something strange and harsh on the top end.

Compared to this :

I find the Atomic 50/50 video to sound much better.

Given how some are raving about the Matrix GT800FX to be as good as a VHT 2/50/2, maybe something something affected the recording... or maybe not

Maybe Mark could enlighten us and give us his own opinion?

No. It sounds fizzy and thin, unlike many other videos Mark posts.

Just because Mark posts it doesn't mean rectal sunshine blowing is a requirement. :D He's done plenty of videos that showcase great playing and great tone, including the direct via USB Axe II clip he did awhile back.

I didnt find it fizzy and thin at all - I thought it sounded thick than the Atomic clip. anyway - you must not forget that the patch itself isnt tweeked for the amp he uses. Ive said a lot of times you need to put a little more valviness in the patch for the Matrix (or a little less for the tube amp - whichever way you want to look at it).

I'm not kissing anyones ass, just didn't think it sounded thin or fizzy at all.

IMO it lacks bottom end and the "fullness" we're used to hear in Mark's vids.

I have to stop reading these forums while drinking my morning coffee. About showered my screen.

It certainly doesn't sound thin and fizzy in the room, there is tons and I mean tons of bottom end. Perhaps I should have applied all kinds of lo/hi pass filter in post? Maybe the you guys don't like the E609? Anyway I assure you, in the room it is not thin and fizzy. gtr31 has been in the room and I think he can vouch that the rig doesn't sound thin and fizzy lol.

Mark, Have you changed your recording set up? Even the atomic vid lacked bottom end. I listened through desktop ref monitors and AKG K240 headphones. Something is different with these two vids...

Even your voice through the new headset mic sounds thinner...

Both my Mac at work and pc setup at home seem to have tons of bottom end to me. Not sure what's going on?

There are more crispy heights in the Atomic. EQ would solve this. The Matrix has a tighter lows.

But the difference is all because someone left the door open!

Has anyone noticed how much thinner and fizzier I am? I'm down to 155 at 5'10". I've got the thin thing, now I just have to get the fizzier thing happening.
