Hey y'all, just wanted to share a little project I finished. I bought this Green Stripe locally last year and it was definitely needing some love. It came out of a combo and was put into this well constructed but rather bland headshell. The reverb tank didn't work and my initial thought was to flip it, but it sounds killer so instead it was arts and crafts time.
The RCA plugs on the reverb tank were plugged in backwards, piece of cake. Then I recovered the face plate in black grill cloth and ordered a logo from Mesa. Finally I retubed with 6N4's and this baby has come back to life! These Green Stripes are amazing amps and now I have two. This is my first time owning two amps of the same model, and I was surprised to find how different they sound. This one has a bigger bump in the low mids, where my other is more pronounced in the upper mids. In stereo they totally slay
Thanks for reading!
