I want to boost the Mark IV ch 2 so I can get a true 3 channel amp. Not enough gain on channel 2.
I was thinking of either a Xotic RC Boost or BB Preamp.

I went to a boutique amp store today and they only had the BB and he said I should get
the RC.
I don't want to color the tone too much i.e. I still want the Mark tone to come through.
I would like the channel to be a bit tighter on the low end.

Hum, thoughts on that?

I've used both a Bad Monkey and OCD pedal with great results personally. The field is pretty wide open as far as choices go, lots of directions to go in. :)

I use the BB on ch-2 of my Mark IV all the time...sounds great! It doesn't need a lot of boost to equal the gain of channel 3, plus its a less compressed sounding.

Does it color the sound much?

I don't think so. Sounds great.

Thanks for the response guys.
It looks like I have a lot of choices....

Today, I'm leaning toward the RC Booster...
It looks like it would do the job perhaps better than the BB.
I don't want to add that much gain and it seems like it would add enough.

I wish I could try one though.
