Here is the rig I resurrected form tech hell. The signal path is gtr into wah, evh phase to rack. 1st loop of the gcx is the Trex overdrive then to the mesa amp switcher. #1 of the amp switcher is the clean which is the Gfroce into 2 twins. #2 is the line to the Tripple Rec. #3 is the line to the Radial Tonebone head switcher. Amp 1 of the switcher is the Bogner Uberschall amp 2 is the Two Rock [with Trex Replica in the loop]. Standard rhythm sound is the Recto w/ uber. Lead sounds are the Recto with the Two Rock clean sounds are the Gforce into the twins and the recto clean channel...... Now what's the other rack you ask? Well it's for his own personal monitors... The 3 palmer boxes [ one for each head ] go into the Mackie mixer also there are direct lines off the Gforce L and R now he has all the amps to mix. The lexicon is for a little rev in the monitors.. Here you go. DAVID FRIEDMAN/RACK SYSTEMS LTD.

Getting a rack to look that clean is a art in itself, great job dave  Having undone my rack tons of times now it is way harder than it looks!

man that thing looks killer!! great job

i've always loved Mark's use of his own personal monitoring system. seems like a great way to get a consistent mix every night.

".....is the Gforce into 2 Twins." Is that 2 Fender Twins? :) Thanx

Hi Dave,

Are the Palmer PDI-09 boxes feeding the monitor mix and FOH, or does Mark mic his cabs for FOH?

Thanks and great looking job!

PDI 09'S are for the monitor rig only cabs are miced for front of house. Dave

Hmmm his rig has changed since i last saw it,

he had a toneking combo and twin, he ditched the klon(i loved that thing)

no more space box? bummer

added a few things, here and there.

he was using the Palmers for both FOH and monitor land, did use mics at the time.
it worked out, he doesn't actually have all the loud of a stage volume most of it is coming from his 2 personal monitors then the mon mix from side stage

also once you've rewired racks for a little while week in week out its not that hard,
I normally rewire FOH drive racks and monitor eq racks, a but load of splays.

But great work, really, i'm glad their are people out there willling to take the time to do somethign like that, the average run of the mill guitarist woudl be lost with those racks.

yeah i remember the "Space Box" i think i saw that on ebay for sale. Sometimes i spend more time wiring up my rack than playing   I remember the days I use to just use my Mesa MK III and pedal. Now I have that linked into my sound with my rack. No where near John Petrucci (or his skill)but i have been doing that since the early 90's. I just love the full sound of a clean amp signal on all the time. Racks wired neatly are awesome, I have learned to zip tie things so if i change one thing i dont have to undo the whole thing. I just have to wait til i get my Egnater M4 in the mail the next few weeks and i will post pics of it. Oh and it wont look Half as nice as Daves but it will look GOOOOOD. :D :worship: :worship: DAVE :worship: :worship: :worship:

How exactly are the loops in the GCX set up. I also dont get how the DI boxes are wired in.

well the gcx switches the head switcher and the recto channels and the 2 pedals in and out. The palmers tap off the speakers cables of the heads and feed the mackie rack for his monitors.
