I'm curious to hear if anyone has experience with one or both of these?

I'm in the market for a versatile lower wattage head, and I can get a pretty good deal on either locally. I already have a mark III combo, the clips i've heard from the small mk v seem to sound different enough that it wouldn't be terrible to own both. I'm also planning to send the mark III into mesa to have some issues sorted out this year, so I'll be without it for a while. Suhr badger I'm looking at is a v2 btw.

The MKV 25 rocks. Falls apart at high volume, but it's to be expected with EL84's.

It's still plenty loud. Most won't even need to get the volume up loud enough to fart out.

The Badger is a great little amp. The only criticism I would have is that it's a bit dark. Tightens up nicely with a boost.

I'm going to check out the mark V tomorrow. Seller was negotiable on price, and it has a matching vertical 2x12.

I don't foresee the high volume thing being an issue, I only plan on using it for home practice & maybe some recording.

It'll do the job. I particularly dug Mark IV mode boosted with an MXR GT-OD. Tight, mean thrash tones. Nails old school Metallica to Lamb Of God tones pretty easily. I had one paired with (2) stacked 1x12 Thieles with the MC90's. It was a monstrous sounding rig.
