I like that you can screw the tailpiece all the way down making the most contact and there is more string in contact with the tailpiece as well. It always seemed to sustain a lot better with the "top wrap".
What about the ridges that form on the tailpiece from the strings wrapping around it and the potential for more broken strings? Seems like there should be a better way...
I have a GTX (Kaman) LP copy with extremely stiff action, even with extra light strings. Not sure why, because the fretboard radius and scale length are pretty standard. I've been meaning to try this out and keep forgetting when I restring.
