Other than the grill cloth, speakers, and handles, is there any other differences in the cabinet design?

The BHW is soldered in while the BX (AX in my case-came with clips) is typically clipped in (again-could've been just mine). There's the obvious difference in speakers but other than that, the dimensions are the same. I'm assuming that Marshall may use a higher quality wood (or at least pick finer pieces) in their builds.

I think the two biggest differences between the two are aesthetics and speakers.

Just my thoughts. Could be wrong.

I think the back of the HW cab is made out of birch plywood whereas the bx's is made of MDF...

I think this may be correct. I have an AX and a AHW slant with GBs' installed. The AHW sound brighter and tighter, could be due to the back.

Can anyone confirm that the back on the HW cabinets is plywood and not MDF?

Heard the same thing, but it seems like nobody knows for sure.

It would be good to have Marshall actually confirm what the HW cabs are made of.

Not an answer to the original question, but i figured i'd throw this in anyway. My three Marshall cabs do not have MDF for backs. Two of them have particle/chip board (VERY different from MDF). The third one, i replaced with a ply back. The ply makes the cab sound stiff and lacking low end in comparison. I'm going back to particle board on that one eventually.

HBW also has the metal handles. Pretty sure it is a plywood back.

The BHW is appears to be birch plywood from what I can tell when I opened mine up a couple of weeks ago. I would have to look again though when I get back to Chicago. Do not know what the other Marshall cabs backs are made of?

Looks like there is conflicting information on the Birch Plywood vs MDF.
