I've officially retired and have been selling off all my vintage Marshall & higher powered amps.
I've been a Vintage Marshall junkie all my life, and have owned more Marshalls that I can recall.
This is the last of my vintage 4 hole Marshalls, and goes without saying is/has been my favorite.
This amp is a bit of an anomaly (but then again, Marshall is notorious for being inconsistent with their earlier builds)
Tag & serial number indicate this is a 1976..... however, this amp has the older, more desirable patrs/ cosmetics.
i.e. - Old Style Headbox - Old Style Toggle Switches - Smaller Logo - all Mustard Caps, etc. (Looks more like a '73 / '74)
Also, the bias circuit looks untouched and the amp is running EL34'S not 6550's (a Canadian version?)
Amp has some " bumps & bruises", but is in good shape considering it's age.
Way back when I first purchased the amp, I took it over to friend/ local builder Mark Kane do go though and possibly remove the Master Vol and install a Polarity Switch in it's place.
He gave it a clean bill of health and suggested I'd leave the Master Vol in as it was a good design and sounded great.
Mark also commented on how good this particular Marshall sounded.
It can go from beautiful cleans, to dead on AC/DC Crunch, to early EVH like no other Marshall I've owned
I's punchy with that aggressive snarl, yet super sweet and non harsh to the ears
This is a Great one guys, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better sounding example anywhere.
