Has anybody ever tried running a boost/overdrive in between the two channels when jumpering a 4-input Marshall? I've owned many 4-input Marshalls but never thought of this until a few days ago. I'm just wondering if it would allow for a cleaner/tighter edge (input 1) to be mixed in with a gainer/overdriven sound (input 2)? I've jumpered many Marshalls and although cool practice, I typically found myself simply running into channel 1. In theory, this seems like it could be a cool thing...no clue how it would turn out in practice though.
The only 4-input Marshall that I currently own is a 1959RR and you can't jumper the channels on it so I can't carry out my experiment. If anybody has done this (or tries it now), please let me know the results.
