Looking for help from some Marshall experts.

My buddy found what I think is a good price on a 1982 Marshall JMP 2203. It says its a German edition. It also has double master volumes that they describe for rhythmic/solo settings without drilling extra holes they said.

How long did they make the JMPs into the 1980s and how do they compare to the late 70s JMP models? What does German edition mean?

German edition might mean all WIMA caps ( except for the electrolytics ) ...... not sure though

2203 Double master volumes?? Never seen anything stock like that, ever. The Northern Eu and Canadian markets continued to get JMP 2203/4s until the mid 80s from what I've seen; while the rest of us got the JCM 800 skin starting in 1981. I had a 1982 JMP 2104 combo; higher pv just like the 1982 800 2204 I owned. I've also seen a laydown PT in a Superlead, with the early 70s box and switches, but dated to 1978. Also Canadian.
But additional master volumes, that's either a Park model or a modded 2203; or maybe they are referring to a 2210/05? Or maybe they are referring to a Superlead with both channel volumes? Need a pic if possible...

See if you can throw some pics of it in, ideally of the inside as well. Sounds like it was modded and someone’s trying to pass it off as not modded. Could be something simple, could also be a rats nest. Never heard of a German spec, unless the guy means euro spec but none of that involves dual masters.
It should still be built like earlier jmp’s. It wasn’t till later they changed the board and filtering.

The 2nd master looks to be a PPIMV installed in one of the speaker jacks on the back. No pictures of the insides. I have played a 78 JMP that I serviced and really liked that amp.

Yeah, it´s a 1982 JCM800 2203 in JMP clothing that´s been modded. I know us scandinavian countries had them well into the 80s, for whatever reason, maybe Germany did too.
