I seem to have JVM GAS that I haven't been able to shake for a while now.... I've played them a couple of times and REALLY Liked what it had to offer, some redundancy but the over all tone was cool, could get some great high gain tones.

So, what is Rig-Talks opinion of them?

Had mine since they came out, 2 channel version. I love it.

There are mixed opinions on it, but FWIW I really liked the one I had and regret selling it.

I had one for 2 years, it was a great amp. Only sold it to pay for Friedman modded Marshalls. I would buy another one when I get the funds.

Wat loLzzZz?

I think you should get your Intel based notebook pc modded with KT69's + a the sideways mod with a mid-vaccum scooper instead...

That will give you the ultimate tone and put you on the cutting edge of amp forum trends all at the same time...

So ya about JVM's...

JVM's suck...
They are pure garbage...
I would never own "one"...

At the end of the day I would ONLY own at least "three" or possibly more

no really I love these amps alot... I use two 210H's in stereo for a cool stereo rig with my rocktron and I just had have the new version of the 410H with the knobs attached to the faceplate... ya FINALLY!!!

I need to get my hands on one, I wanna a/b it with my Makoplex to make sure I wouldn't just be rehashing anything, but I'm pretty sure they would be apples and oranges.

Had my JVM since March '07. It is a killer amp. There are tons of tones in that amp and they are killer, especially the orange mode on OD1 or OD2. That is worth the price alone. I have seen them go for as cheap as $1100 for a 410H on the RT classifieds. That is insane considering how badass the amp is. Do it!!!

On my 210's I use the yellow mode of the only overdrive channel...

Gain about 1:00-3:00 boosted with an OD-9 (with the OD-9 controls set @ gain & level 10:00 and tone about 9:00...)

I pretty much keep the depth at about 1:00 and the presense at 10:00 ish...
Mids about 10:00-11:00 and Bass about 1:00
Treble anywhere from 10:00 to 1:00 depending on the guitar and picjup configuration I'm playing...

They only controls I really adjust depending on which guitar I'm playing is the Treble contraol and the Gain control... I pretty much leave everything the same...

The Treble control is really powerfull I find on this amp and can have a huge affect on things... that is really my go-to tone adjustment control.

I do everything the same on the 410H but i use the yellow mode of the Overdrive1 channel... the 410H has two overdrive channels and i really like the OD1 yellow the best boosted... with all my guitars it just rocks hard for me...

I do not use the red channel alot but on ocassion I will rock it.

I totaly dig the yellow mode of the clean channel with the gain at about noon with a boost and my hotrod tele... the tones is just amazing for blues riffing... just stupid sick...

For the money, used or with a great deal on a new one, and paired with a solid kabs (like i have) they are one of the best amps on the market IMO... Plus they just sound really great with all my guitars both passive and active.

The map loves my VHT fatbottom straight and my front loaded Uber Kab

The amp seems to respound very well to tube changes too if you want to go down that road...

Probably the best buy for the money...

I get NIB 410H's for $1650 & NIB 210H's for $1280 so it's a no brainer for me...

Also I really feel the Maxon OD-9 adds alot of mojo to this amp's yellow mode...

I have said from day one and I still believe to this day that they are amazing amps and you get more then your moneys worth with them!

If you use Moshaholics settings with a boost like he does you should have a HUGE smile on your face

had a chance to buy a 410H for $1000 recently, but couldn't come up with the cash quick enough.. DAMMIT!!!

I seriously find the amp to very inspiring with how I have it set up...

I just plug in and just "let go" with the jams with this amp... I play it every freaking day at 6:00 am before the nasty drive to Miami and then for at least an hour after dinner to shake off the days stress...

Then on the weekend I go nutz... I have not been this content for a while now and I already thinking of selling the splawn Nitro that is about to ship to me this week or early next... I know that's a killer amp but I'm just really happy and inspired these days more than I have been in a long while...

The only other amps I really dig are rectifers, orange channel only, boost & EMG's mandatory for me...

You seem to really be gravitating towards the amp. I say go for it!

There is nothing better then when you find an amp / amps that just work for you! The trick is to stick with it. which is hard when you read forums like this hahaha! You start getting curious about other things and it sets you on a wild goose chase haha! Ive done that many times before but in the end it did help me out in finding what works for me! I love the Jvm's. always have and always will! I have still yet to check out the 50 watter!! Id love to run 2 of them in stereo....pretty sure Id shit! :D

I looooove OD2 for modern heavy stuff and OD1 for more classic stuff although it can easily attain the brootz as well.

My settings for a high gain heavy as fuck rhythm tone (all clock face style):

OD2 Orange NO BOOST (never have needed it with this amp)
Gain 11, Bass 1, Mids 12, Treble 11
Resonance 12, Presence 9

For a nice thick mid gain rock tone I dig Crunch Red:

Gain 12, Bass 1, Mids 1, Treble 12

I use Clean Green for cleans and have tons of headroom even with my BKP Painkillers and Warpigs.

I use it through my Fatbottom straight 412s loaded with V30s or my Marshall 1960BVs with V30s and it kills.

Ummm... is it just me? Cause I'm thinking there is no Orange mode on a JVM? Just Green, Yellow & Red?

The one I had with the Mercury choke an OT was killer. I wish I got to compare it side-by-side to stock to hear what difference it made.

I thought the amp had a little too much gain though - so you had to keep it low. Being used to Bogner, Diezels and my Nitro, I would have liked a little more low-end, but that's splitting hairs. It's a great all around amp.
