Marshall JVM410 or VM2466?

Possibly have a deal in the works for a different Marshall head. Need something for Classic Rock/ Hard Rock.

Which one? They both sound good to me.

I think the VM has a little better tone, but the JVM kicks its ass for versatility in a live setting

Id go with the VM. The JVM has a little bit of a fizz quality to me. On the versatility side, use your volume/tone controls and your neck pickup. That is if you don't need pristine clean sounds.

For sheer versatility, go with the JVM. 12 different modes, all MIDI controlled... Now that is awesome!

Do you need versatility? The VM is a great choice if you don't mind it being essentially a 1 channel amp.
