Picked this up recently after it impressing me in a store. It was used and a good price, even if it had been stock. Basically it has a little more gain than a stock one cranked up but you don’t need to crank it to get it. The master works more like a traditional master as opposed to a pre-Pi master like the stock one, so you can get the gain at any volume. The master definitely still adds some sauce once you get up to noon and above but just some wildness to the overall sound.
If I dial back the gain I get just a great late 70’s AC/DC tone. I’m not saying it’s game changer..lol Just a tweaked amp that is fun to play. I had a stock one briefly and only sold it to raise some quick cash (last in, first out). Stock was great in its own way.
I included a pic for the more tech savvy to maybe decipher what was changed. Looks like a variation of a one wire mod but I only know enough to be completely wrong..lol. In the vid I had the mids at 9 O’Clock to compensate a little for recording with a phone but it definitely has classic mids to spare.
