Here's a quick video of my Marshall heads doing some thrashy shite

Yep. Cool comparison! One of the members posted your vid yesterday and I really liked the 8100

Edit: Please put me in your will :D

ah, sorry, didn't realise it had been posted already, my bad

I'll race ya!

Just kidding   That would be a heck of an amp for that price and then some.

^^^ Looks like that one at GC isn't the same model as the one in Lasse's video Dan FWTW. That one is the VS100. Don't know what the differences would be?

Yeah I don't know enough about them.
I knew a lot death metal bands used em.

Right on. Yeah, I've heard Chuck was pretty partial to the Valvestates and Randalls. I'd like to try a Ampeg Vh-140c someday.

Yeah is the VS100 the same as the 8100?

8100 was the first generation Valvestate. Two channels.

VS100R was the second generation Valvestate. Three channels.

Wow you hate the mode four amp2 that much? Too funny, I never really hear good things about the mode four, ever. I have one, I keep it cause it is kind of a different kind of amp. The clean channel takes pedals very well. I tried using an MXR 10 band EQ on amp2 to reduce its boomy bass as you mentioned and it helped it quite a bit.

Great job

They all sounded pretty good to me TBH. At first I thought I was going to have to skip through all your commentary but I actually enjoyed your descriptions.

The 8100 is so underrated and unsung. A year or so ago the band I was in opened up for War Of Thrones (Wade Black former Crimson Glory singer's band). The guitarist Rick was using one and it sounded killer. Now Rick is handicapped but is an amazing player. He makes it sound great of course. Still for an amp that you can find for sub $200 prices it is really good. Rick told me that Chuck Schuldiner turned him onto the amp back in the day :)

My 8100 is on "permanent" loan to my bro Stuart Taylor (photographer and founder of Scum Scunge...yep,the same guy from the infamous ass zit video Dime did at this moms house in the pantera home videos). I got turned onto that amp by Bloodrock when I was digging on solid states a while back. It's the perfect brutal metal solid state cheap amp.

I liked these demos,I did like the JCM 2210 and the Fortin modded one..I owned an old Marshall Superlead Mark 2 a long time ago, back in 1988,and I didn't really ever try any metal or high gain stuff,I believe it was all original,no mods, and I found out 3 weeks ago I might be able to get it back..after hearing a few of these marshalls I am Jonesing for another Marshall! If I were to get it back I would need some info on what mods can be done to the amp listed above to bring it to more modern high gain standards, any info greatly appreciated! sorry to hi=jack this thread!

I know I'm really digging the 410hjs I just bought. This thing is a total beast. And built like a tank!!!
