Sounds darn good esp for a pedal

Thanks! It's a bit over the top, gain-wise. I had the gain on the lead channel of the pedal dimed   but it sounds like amp-gain to me.

IT is the magic of the tubes inside!! That pedal does sound great though.. almost like adding an extra tube to the amp really.

Yeah, the amp was dead clean so it's all the Blackstar.

This setup blew away the YJM's built-in od.

Have you tried it in the loop return as a pre and the Marshall just as straight power?

No, good idea though. I have to try it

nice demo. I think the tone is a little more liquidy, more smoother than the stock YJM gain. Still could hear that distinct Marshall crunch in the mids though. It sounded good as well when you played the Hendrix riff, with the volume down a bit.
What guitar were you using?

That was the Ibanez Satriani. That's another thing with the built-in YJM OD, I don't like it with humbuckers. I don't like it w/ singles either. The only guitars it sounded good with was my old Yngwie Strats, humbucking singles.

I tried a new MXR Distortion+ '76 Reissue and that was better than the built-in OD.....but the Blackstar straight into the amp set clean sounded best.

Sounds good. I am saving up odor my first tube OD, a kingsley jester. :)

Sounds great. I really dig my HT-Dual but haven't used it in awhile. I need to go dig it out of the closet after hearing this  I remember playing a show with it plugged into an old Marshall tube 1x12 combo (Master Lead Combo i think it was called) on the verge of breaking up. It was one of the best "feeling" rigs I've ever played through. So fluid like a pedal can do, but so amp-like in tone.

i think the tone is really good but i think i'd prefer to hear this rig with a more traditional strat

How does this pedal compare to any of the high-end nun tube pedals? I was gonna buy either a Wampler Pinnacle or a new version Carl Martin Plexitone.

I tried an HT-distX. And honestly it was just a bit muddy overall. It sounded somewhat like a box of bad components to me, but it felt great.

That sounds really good Carl but the oddball power supply is a deal breaker for me. It wont run off of any kind of Pedal power unit due to the voltage/current demands..

I Like those pedals, but as Kage says, the voltage is a pain in the tits.

Heres mine, (distX), flubs n all, thru a JMP....its a modern take on JCM800 in my view.

These pedals sound really "real" and open in my opinion, but for some reason I could never get the volume knob thing working on them - even my MI Audio Crunch Box does it better (and thats not even its forte). The Crunch Box is more compressed and boxy, but I dig it more.

Thanks! Yeah, strange power suppy. Not really a good video but wanted to document what it sounded like with humbuckers.
