Matchless BS (Gut Shots Included)

I've been playing my '97 Matchless Chieftain a bit more lately and two of the lights for the backlit logo just burned out (not bad...got 13 years out of them with 2 more still going strong, plus all 4 panel lights still going). I remove the logo to replace the lights but the wiring actually runs over top of the bulbs making it impossible to remove them. You actually have to remove the entire chassis from the cabinet and them remove a panel attached to the cab to get at the bulbs...WTF kind of design is that???

Here is the front panel with logo removed...you can see the wires (solid/inflexible) running over top of the bulbs:

Since I had it opened up, I figured I'd share a gut shot for those interested. True PTP wiring with no boards or strips...pretty neat work:
