I'm envious. VH was awesome but in my opinion those two DLR albums with Billy and Stevie were Diamond Daves shining glory. Even the videos. The Fabulous Picasso Brothers" were genius.

we're not in tune but its only heavy metal so it doesnt matter
i have always loved mattias - not much for his band though.
as for vai, vai was once a great player. now, i also think he is full of himself and overrated. just like his guitars, and yes - i have owned one.
as for EVH - funny no one has said this yet. but mattias' tapping reminds me of something right off of VH I

Mattias is a cool and genuine guy with super high energy and a wicked sense of humor. Great player and awesome guy.
Both he and CJ were very fun and easy to work with...

I guess that's one of the things you Non Fag Manly Men do - insult hair. Next you'll be going on about his clothes and nails.
One thing to consider is that without Vai, it's a good chance you never would have heard of Mattias. Not saying that diminishes either player's skill or appeal, it's just that Vai (and Satriani) opened a lot of doors for instrumental guitarists that had been closed for a long time.
