Maybe George Lynch should follow the Ozzy model?

I think that's not a bad pitch. If GL wanted to do something a bit more relevant (other than to the loyal and loving fans he's already got), that is a great idea. I liked the fact that Ozzy did what he did, picking up guitarists that were not that famous.

You guys did hear Smoke This right?

I like the idea just make sure it's the right young guns. It would then be George as the benevolent dictator though and he sounds like he doesn't want to do that.

I was just going to mention Smoke This. However, my thoughts on that album is likely far different than most. The Smoke This album was my first exposure to Lynch. Just happened to catch them performing in '99, and I really liked it, of course I was into Korn, Bizkit and the like back then, so it seemed to fit right in. Then I discovered who Lynch was, and then later bought all the Dokken and Lynch Mob albums. Been a huge fan since then.

Smoke This was really a younger group of musicians, and I think that album was good. I like that Lynch is "evolving" with his music, and likes to sample a lot more than the hair metal he's really known for. -Tangent- Lynch/Pilson was an EXCELLENT album, and it had a very modern sound to it (hell, he had a Diezel and Uberschall on that album).

With the Lynch Mob thing, I see why he always had a steady rotation of seasoned vets touring with him. Made sense for the Lynch Mob music. As far as Lynch's future musical endeavors, I think he should start with a younger crowd, and help groom a new generation of musicians.

I liked Smoke This. Was a nice break from the tired blues/biker metal.

Kinda....

As a strategy to get on the radio again? Yes.

George seems like a cool, normal, smart guy with no reason to follow Ozzy in any other way.

Think Oz shoulda packed it in about 15 years ago.

Zakk was the best thing he had.

OZZY is a frontman / Singer .... GL is just a guitar player .... running a band solely on the guitarists name or around him is a sure way to fail or stay small.....it aint the 1970's anymore

For me I love both the guys....
But REALLY REALLY have to be in the mood for Eithers music.
I still listen to No more Tears quite a bit and Bark at the Moon.
But this week I was listening to INXS and Huey Lewis and the News Sports CD.
Who would of thought? :dunno:

Eh....if it sounds good and make you feel good and smile...then it IS GOOD! ;)

GL is his own man. Ozzy is a bit of a clown ever since the reality series, and isn't making any calls in his camp IMO.

I only made it halfway when he got to I'm so sad. Maybe he was tired. I love Ozzie and respect him but maybe its time.

I never said what era of Ozzy ;) I hope he sounds better than that by the time he gets to Chicago...... :scared: I never was a Dokken/Lynch fan, Lynch Mob was good and he is very good but he just doesn't make it happen for me. 1969 through 1995 Ozzy is always on my playlist.

George should play for Ozzy. :D

Funny you say that....
I remember hearing back in the early 80's,
that Ozzy had spoke to George about joining
the band. I think it was after Randy had passed
and he threw the idea at George but it
obviously never came to fruition.

George auditioned after Randys death but Oz passed him over and went with B. Gillis

After Gillis George was passed over again for Jake.

George also taught lessons at Delores Rhoads music store.

Ozzy blew my mind, well Iommi more than Ozzy but in the 70's i got a steady diet of Sabbath and loved it.

Ozzy is one of the hardest working guys in music, his success has alot to do with his wife.

George is his own man and unique in a world of vanilla guitar.

I wonder if Ozzy ever tires of singing War Pigs cuz i know i'm tired of hearing it after 35 years ... $.02

problem is that each of these guys are quite irrelevant and more so by the day. Look at the product sales, they tell you all you need to know. Life moves on, some things you can't do forever unless you are lucky few mega acts.
