Wow! Just got this used from a forum member, and finally got around to replacing the jb in my sg with it las night before practice. Man what a killer pickup! I think im fully converted to lower output pups now. It was so clear and punchy, and had a nice sustain to it. I havent had a chance to try it with my louder band yet, but sick pickup with a sweet high end. None of the shriek that was part of the jb's vibe.

Ya, I have a Detroiter set in my LP. Killer!

I really want to put this in my les paul now, but i really love the sd '78 custom in it right now. That may change in a couple weeks....

MCPs are the best pickups IMO!!!   Plus they are made in the great city of Detroit!!! I just ordered the Nasty Nasty (bridge).

I have a Nasty Nasty that should be here next week sometime. :)

Ill get a chance to compare it a little with my les paul that has the '78 in it today. I dont know what it is, but this guys got it.

Whats the nasty nasty supposed to be like? The website sucks as far as explaining their pickups. It would be so much easier to ballpark pickup choices if you knew some kind of output range or eq curve... Fortunately i was able to hear a couple youtube clips of the detroiter, and that started the gas lol

How good is this pickup (bridge and neck) at going from say The Allman Brothers to Thin Lizzy to Iron Maiden (about as heavy as I good) ?

My LP still has the stock 57 Classic and Burstbucker 3 in it. Playing through a Blackstar Stage 60 combo. The stock pickups just seem to be lacking some punch and clarity.

Dude its clear as a bell! Thats one of the things i love about it. Alot of aftermarket pups have an exagerated midrange vowel sound to them, which work in some combos, or are hard to dial out imo. The detroiter, to me, is balanced and punchy, and the mids sound natural not pushed.? I did t want to change out the pups in my les paul for the mcp, cause the '78 custom shop i had in the 'paul is zebra and the mcp is solid black; but it sounded so damn good i changed them anyway. To be fair the '78 is a badass pickup too, but its def got a pushed midrange to it, and i like the detroiter just that much more.
