My GMP Xplorer is getting wired for Torque's now (I bought them from a RT member a few months ago and finally got around to getting them in a guitar). Can't wait to get it back. I pulled the EMG's out of all of my guitars after trying MCP's and BK's.

Whenever Wade discontinues a pickup, it's not because it's not selling well, or because he just kinda feels like it.

It's because the materials being used are very scarce, and if his source dries up, then the pickup has to be discontinued. He won't slap any old Alnico magnet in there and call it a day.

I think that's pretty respectable - he'd rather discontinue an item, rather than sell you an inferior imitation of it.

Hello Guys!!
That's exactly the mojo :D The Alnico 3's in the HB were fantastic sounding and a bit different than the standard mix- (the magnet industry's set formula for a specific grade of alnico). There are plenty of different grades of alnico 3, but this one is the tophat so I have tried some other magnets and its not the same. I am however in the middle of getting some analysis finished on the magnets and having them made using the same company that made the Alnico5 and A2's...nothing less than perfection at this point.
The Torque's!! OMG!! Man, these little monsters are really hard to make because of the winding pattern and speed. The real culprit on these is the wire. Its very unique, awkward. Still enamel, but just and awkward size and coating, this one also has a step to harder the enamel before it gets waxed...I'm working on another batch of wire also, but this is a process that often involves traveling to the plant to ok the results to avoid extra fee's and down time not to mention the bare minimal poundage order...
When will they be back?? It will be some time, but the divine black sheep will flock again....
Peace!!
Wade

Maybe you should just contact Wade via email or phone to see if he is ever going to make these pickups again.
