Me thinks I got a pretty good deal: JCM 800 content.

Damn, talk about fast arrival! One day shipment from Brooklyn which is expected.

It's a bit dirty but sounds ace as expected. :) :)

Nice!!!

Hey Dave!

What are your favorite boosts to use with the 800s? Also, which speakers?

-Joe

Sounds like you need to bring it by my place to try out my G12 65's and my MIJ SD1/Barber DD SS

Paige!

I'd defnitely like to do that. I really am a fan of vintage 30s (I know most hate em, but I actually dig the mid hump!), but greenbacks are sometimes too fizzy for the stuff I want to play, and a bit underpowered. (doom/stoner rock)

I've always been intrigued by the 65s...How would you describe them?

-Joe

65's were designed to be a higher powered Greenback, they have similarities. I honestyl doubt you'd like them.

Well, I don't hate greenbacks, I like them a lot for bluesy-rock/80's style rock like UFO Schenker type tone. I had some Scumbacks that were great, great speakers. I just don't know how they would work out for the style I'm into right now.

just about any boost pedal sounds awesome with a marshall, for me a plank cranker, tube screamer, stack in the box, super overdrive, brownie, love pedal overdrive. burn unit, ocd, metal zone all kick ass, anything sounds great with a good sounding marshall

Thanks for the recommendations. I guess I need to keep reminding myself that it needs to be cranked to sound great!

haha

Any of you guys try a BB preamp with an 800?? I'm really looking for something to add some gain, a bit of compression, but not rob my low end.

I have a BB preamp (your old one). It sounds okay with the 800, but like I said before, I prefer the Timmy. It sounds bigger and fuller. Too bad you dont live closer, you could try out all of the pedals etc and hear for yourself. ;)

Cool, maybe I will try one out. I know music-toyz is a dealer, but they seem to be out of stock. Do you know if he has any other dealers??

Yeah I know man, I've looked the distance up for past amp gatherings and it's about a 1 hour, 40 minute drive. Sucks!

Hey Dave,
Is the Timmy and Tim the same sounding pedal just with a boost feature?

They sound very close, but the Timmy seems to have more gain. I am not the only one to think that either. I did a few searches over at TGP and a lot of people thought the same thing. I still love both pedals.

Thanks Dave! I'm going to give one a shot see how it compares to the DD.

I got my TIM and Timmy from Brad at Tone Factor. Tim was $169 shipped and the Timmy was $139 shipped. They were both new and my wait time was less than 1 month. I see that they sell for STUPID money used . I still love them both though :D I will make a few silly video clips showing them off...

I see that too. I was looking for one on e-bay used and was thinking what the F. I think I'm going to get the one with the boost for leads. I would really like that feature. I know to that you compared the DD to the Tim could you tell me again what you heard?
Can't wait to see that shit!

-Joe

That's a great deal. That's the new relic look, you can sell that for say triple the price you paid. Just ask the Fender people.

not a timmy, but to show just how good any pedal sounds with a marshall, my 1981 2204, les paul, and a plank cranker and really not at a very loud volume either, I have posted this before, just wanted you to hear it
