Melodic Rock Fest 4

This past Saturday I attended the Melodic Rock Fest in Arlington Hts, IL. Andrew from http://melodicrock.com/ runs the fest and it was pretty cool. House of Shakira and HEAT from Sweden stole the show as far as carrying the torch for new melodic/hard rock.

Bombay Black from the US really sounded good, the guitar player had a cool AXE rig:

I went to see Guardian and it was disappointing, only 2 of the original guys were there and the singer was sick and struggled to sing.

Tango Down (lead singer was in Bangalore Choir) sucked, they were lip-syncing to tracks and must have been stoned because it was obvious to everyone they were not singing.

Paul Laine was really good. I never heard him before and was surprised at how well he sang and how good his songs were.


Heaven's Edge kicked everyone else in terms of energy. They are all in their 50's and just smoked.
