Nothing like starting out the fresh, new year $1300 in debt to yourself.
Well, after finding out that the Bogner Metropolis is/will be discontinued, I had the opportunity to snag this MINTY fresh one from a great shop in upstate NY. There's not a scratch on this thing. The owner of the shop told me that he got this from a Bogner dealer that closed, and the amp was sold to a collector-type who probably put 10 hours total on the amp. Then the buyer traded it back shortly after that.
I'm a Bogner fan, and the Metropolis has ALWAYS been on my "one day I'll get it" wish list. But after finding out that news, I knew it was now or never to grab this thing.
Class A. 30W. 4xEL84 tubes. Rectifier. Single channel, dual voiced inputs, 5 position rotary "Schizo" knob to adjust EQ voicing. I can't wait to bring this home and rip it up.
Now I've got all the amp tones I could really want covered, and they're all Bogner-flavored.
High Gain Hard rock and big cleans: Shiva 20th
Classic rock Marshall plexi and swampy Fender Deluxe Blues: Duende
Class A Voxy Matchless sizzle and chime: Metropolis
I think it'll be right at home next to these guys: Oversize 212, Shiva size 112, and 20th Shiva EL34 mod.
And my little 15W Duende: (scored this for under $1500 used, mint condition, KILLER little amp.
