How'd I miss this one?? I think they all sound incredibly similar, it's really hard for me to pick a clear winner here. Gonna have to relisten.

Pretty much any Mark series is a winner. All of them sound good

Ya, they all sound great to me. The Mark IV rev B seems to have a little more bite/presence to it than the rest, but other than that they sound pretty damn close to each other. Mesa have always said the differences between the rev A and rev B are basically nil tonally, and I believe it. I think any differences you hear are chalked down to part tolerances. All amps sound a bit different from each other, even of the same model. What surprises me is how similar the IIC+ sounds to the Mark IV in this clip.

I've also played a friends rev A beside my early rev B not too long ago and to be honest I could not really tell much of a difference between the two. I'd have to look at the back of the amp (the loop) to tell you which amp i was playing, that's how close they were tonally to each other. I only compared the lead channels though.

Curious to know what kind of cab and speaker combo you used for the reamping. Something about the IIC+ gets lost in translation in a lot of recordings. This recording nails the grind and aggression of a IIC+, especially those palm muted notes you can hear the percussiveness that hits you in the chest in the room. I got to play a buddies Mark IV in the same room as my IIC+'s a couple months back. I haven't owned a Mark IV in over a decade, I can't believe how much low end girth has while still being tight. Definitely need to pick up a IV again.

Ya the IV has a fat, punchy bass response that stays tight as hell. I love mine, it's an amp I'll probably keep till the day I die.

I need to get myself a IIC+ too, but I don't see that happening any time soon with current prices.
