Wanted to buy a nice amp for metal/high gain and I found a nice deal of Stiletto deuce on ebay, is it capable of doing metal or should i just stick with mini/single rectifier amp?

Not without a pedal and possibly an EQ in the loop to boost the lows just a tad. I love my Deuce but for plugged straight in, no pedals, it does Kill Em All Metallica and a lot of early 80's metal no problem. The thicker more saturated stuff of the last 10 years is not it's forte. The gain gets too fuzzy and loose past what I would call the "80's setting"  I love my Deuce but if I wanted to play for eg. At The Gates I would hit it with a pedal while it's gain is still tight and an EQ in the loop. I've never tried a single rectifier that sounded worth a damn but the recto distortion is not my favorite either. Maybe you need a used Dual Rec or 5150/6505 and hit it with a TS type pedal. That seems to be right up the alley of something like KSE.

edit: Just saw that Single Rec Vid post. That sounded in the vain of KSE...

I had both the Single Rec and the Stiletto Trident/Ace. If you boost the Single Rec in Modern Mode you can touch Killswitch Tone.

yes, saw that single rec video posted also. sounds so great! i might just get a recto instead of the stiletto.
there's a deal in ebay for $900

Recto can do KSE tone very well. Just boost it with Maxon OD808 or Suhr Koko

add enough mids so you don't sound like mush - right cabinet will help. ENGL 2x12 with Vintage 30's highly recommend with Mesa head.
