I have a chance to buy a good condition Mesa DR Revision F and I need some opinions on cash value from you experts. It has the leather head-shell cover material, permanent attached power cord and the serial number is under 1500. I played the amp and it sounds great.
Thanks for any help.

i've seen serial numbers in the 2000's (which would put it at about 1993) go for about $1500 on the revision f. i'd say a fair price is anywhere between $1500-2000 (depending on condition/tube choices of course). if there's room to negotiate, definitely try to get closer to the $1500 price (that is, if it's not already there).

I've seen them go for under $1100 recently. Personally I wouldn't pay over $1000.

Honestly, I agree. I picked up a chrome chassis Triple 2 Channel 1994 for $1000 on craigslist about a year ago. I never understood the hype on early ones as I've payed many and they don't seem any better to me than later 90's ones. If it sounds great to you it's up to you but over $1200 would be ridiculous to me for a 2CH dual.

+ 1, I saw an early chrome chassis one recently for 900$

What year(s) were the very early ones that were covered in leather?? I had one of those once and sold it.

My rev G (not sure exactly what year) was leather covered, blackface with chrome chasis. It's in Russia now.

Mine is #635, 1992, leather, early rev F. I actually had stopped playing it a few years ago, and just recently started gigging with it.

It's if F'ING BADASS!!! I am SO glad I didn't sell it when I had it listed a few months ago.

Killer, killer amp.

And, this is coming from someone who had been gigging with a Bogner Ecstasy for the last several years.

yeah, that 1500-1800 range sounds a bit high IMO, considering the current market. I've seen pre-500 in that range in the last year, so the Rev F should be quite a bit cheaper.

$800 to $1200, depending on condition and how badly the dude wants to sell it.

Thanks for the input. The guy wants $1,200. and I think I'm going to pass. If it were mint I would jump.

offer a grand and see what happens. Theyre great sounding and tuff amps. But yeah, I personally wouldnt pay over 1000 for ANY 2ch solo head.
If he doesnt go for it, just be patient. They pop up every day. Youll find one.

I have a Rev F triple and it is by far the best sounding recto I have ever owned, heard, played etc... I have had other triples, duals and a tremoverb in the past. The triple I have now is clear , tight , plenty of mids, not fizzy or squishy at all. Its like the opposite of newer rectos.

The one I have is mint and I wouldnt sell it for less than $1500 because its worth at least that much to me.

So take this into consideration, if it sounds that good than it is worth what he is asking IMO.
