Mesa F50-I want to experiment with different tubes.. HELP!!

So I think my tubes might be pretty worn in my f50. It's making some weird crackly noises sometime. It usually sounds fine when I'm playing in band settings. I'm looking to experiment with some ideas for tubes. I play a little more toward the rhythm-ish side of things, with leads and stuff like that. A la Thrice, Circa Survive, Foo Fighters, that sort of thing. I play a Les Paul copy and Fender American Special Tele.

Any suggestions/ideas??

It's a Mesa, most of the tone is in the preamp.
