Seems like they’re all around 2k! Been years since I looked at them...have they really gone up that much?

Prices on everything have gone up. They use to sell for around $1k. But we can only buy at the prices people are willing to sell, so...

Not only have prices gone up in general, but after Gibson bought Mesa, prices have gone wild on Mesa stuff. I bought a Mark IV about a year ago for $1300. Look a Mark III which were cheaper than IV some years ago, and now people are asking crazy prices for them. And not only have prices gone up, but people don't want to sell either. I've been trying to buy a IIC+ DRG for years, and now it's probably the hardest it's been.

I agree. Prices are crazy. I don’t know if they are actually selling but pre gibson Mesa is going to be a thing.

I got my Mark IV for I think $900 about 5 years ago. Now they are priced very high indeed, 2K+ is pretty crazy. But maybe they are selling that high because they sound so damn good?? they're fetching more what they are worth now, but even 2k+ is stretching it, I think.

i got mine from mesa hollywood with a roadcase, just teched by them, for 899 used. I could easily double my money on that one. i sold my last mark IV (a version, hardwood short head) for 1700 like 10 years ago, and thought i banked, but yeah, you could probably get close to 2k for a standard mark IV these days. boogie marks on are fire right now.

Again. Listed price and sale price are different so I’m not sure what people actually get. But it’s a lot.

I think a big reason they are on fire right now is because there are so many good clips of them on youtube recently, especially the Mark IV's.

I think I paid like 900 for mine, thing sounds incredible and still stands as the most versatile amp ever. Damn thing can do anything.... country , jazz , rock , metal .... and whatever else. Sounds so good

a friend of mine said the exact same thing to me the other day about mark III's. 12-15 years ago, you had to buy it and resell it, none of those clips/shoot outs existed. Now you got tons of clips, plus the general opinion of anyone (who is capable of figuring out how to set them) on message boards, is that they're excellent amps...which they are. :)

I know of a clean one that sold for $2400 recently. Prices are crazy on everything, that's for sure.

There was a guy who was trying to find how much his mark iv and 2x12 was worth and he didnt seem to believe that 1200-1400 was the going rate precovid. Like I spent over a year window shopping for Mark IV's so I saw 900 -1500 every few weeks.

I dont know how many mark III I passed on at 800... kinda regret that now.

Agreed. I think they may have been flying under the radar a bit years ago, and criminally undervalued. Now with all of the quality clips, Mesa Facebook groups, and deserved hype, they’re selling for much closer to their true value. There is no sane reason why an old Mark III or IV shouldn’t sell for the same amount as a Marshall from the same era. The Mesa is actually a much more beastly and versatile amp if you know how to dial them in.

I bought and sold my red stripe mark III with r2 mod for $750. 00 in 2012
uggh if I had only known we'd be seeing this madness
both of my Mark IV's sold for $1200 in 2015 :(

Prices are insane right now

I don't think old Marks are going to be going down in prices anymore.
So many people are still swearing by them over 30 years later.

Nah they are only going up. Just like the 5150's. Those days of good prices are gone.

If it says Made in the USA on it, it's not going down. Buy USA everything now. Look at cheap Peavey USA Predators were going for, now they are jacked up. I predict Heritage guitars are about to skyrocket, made in USA Carvins will down the road not too far. It's not just us gear wierdos that are going to want this stuff. The whole world will. Snatch up all the Silverface amps you can find! LAST ONE TO THE LIFE RAFT IS A DEAD MAN!!!!!!
